When Your Life Falls Apart: How to Get Through the Day When It Feels Too Much.
PULL UP A SEAT
There's moments in life when everything changes… and you didn’t see it coming.
A relationship ends.
Someone you love is gone.
The life you thought you had disappears overnight.
And suddenly, you’re not okay.
You can’t sleep.
You can’t eat.
You can’t think straight.
Even the simplest things feel impossible.
Underneath it all is this quiet thought:
“How am I supposed to keep going like this?”
This might be hard to hear… but it matters.
You’re not failing.
You’re not weak.
What you’re feeling is what happens when your world shifts in a way your mind and body weren’t prepared for.
This is grief.
This is shock.
This is emotional overload.
Of course you can’t function the way you used to.
You’re not meant to.
Right now, it’s not about fixing your life
I know your mind is trying to jump ahead…
“How do I move on?”
“How do I rebuild?”
But that’s too much for where you are.
Right now, your only job is this:
Get through today.
Just today.
Nothing more.
So let’s make this simple
When everything feels like too much, you don’t need a big plan.
You need small anchors
Lower the bar
If all you do today is get out of bed… that’s enough.
If you have a shower… that’s enough.
If you eat something… that’s enough.
Right now, surviving is success.
Come back to the next hour.
Your mind will pull you into the future.
Gently bring it back.
“What do I need to get through the next hour?”
Then just do that.
Do one grounding thing
Step outside.
Feel the air.
Make a cup of tea.
Sit in the sun.
These small moments help your body feel safe again.
Let yourself feel it.
You don’t have to process everything at once.
But if the tears come—let them.
If the sadness rises—acknowledge it.
You don’t have to fix it.
Just let it move through you.
Stop asking yourself to be okay
You’re not okay right now.
And that’s okay.
Try this instead:
“I’m not okay… but I’m getting through this.”
That’s enough.
Stay connected in small ways
Even a message.
Even reading something like this.
Connection matters more than you think right now.
A gentle place to come and be supported.
If this resonates with you, I share more support, guidance, and simple, grounding steps like this inside my private community.

And if nothing else…
Please remember this:
You are not behind.
You are not failing.
You are going through something incredibly hard.
And guess what? You’re still here!
That matters more than anything.
