Ever feel like you've lost yourself?

Why So Many Women Over 40 Feel Like They’ve Lost Themselves

(And How to Start Reclaiming Who You Are)

This is what I know for sure:

A lot of women over 40 are quietly… shrinking.

Not in size, not in ability… but in spirit.

Some of it comes after divorce. Some when the kids leave. Some just because life happens and suddenly, you’re not the woman you thought you’d be at this age. Somewhere along the way, you look in the mirror and think…

Who is this woman?

I’m not talking about the obvious stuff, losing confidence, feeling invisible, wondering if anyone really sees you. I’m talking about the part of you that used to matter most to you, the part you quietly let slide while taking care of everyone else.

Guess what? Society doesn’t care that you feel this way. Nobody talks about it. Nobody says, “Hey, it’s normal to feel like you’re disappearing under all the roles you’ve played.”

And so, many women over 40 are living this quiet, invisible life… asking themselves, Is this all there is?

Here’s the truth:

It’s not all there is.

That sense of being lost? It’s not a failure. It’s an invitation.

A call to wake up to yourself. To remember who you are, who you wanted to be, and who you still can be.

The first step is noticing what’s missing… and naming it.

Sometimes it’s taking a small, deliberate step to reconnect with the parts of yourself you’ve ignored.

Sometimes it’s as simple as answering a few questions for yourself that suddenly make the fog clear.

Here’s something I want to share… Women often ask me, “How did you do it? What did you do to get to where you are now?” That’s what inspired me to create a simple framework to help women gently reconnect with themselves. It’s just a few small steps—but they can make a world of difference.

Reclaiming yourself isn’t about reinventing yourself—it’s about remembering yourself.

What are you willing to rediscover? What have you stopped defending about yourself that’s worth fighting for again?

This is the time to lean into that discomfort, to ask the hard questions, and to start showing up for yourself in ways you never did before.

This world doesn’t need another woman who’s reluctant to claim her space and spread her wings.

It needs you. Fully alive. Fully present. Fully unapologetically you. So, if that scares you… good. That means you’re about to do something that matters.
